Whataburger and Hornblower Group now live with Paze checkout solution to drive innovation in the digital checkout space

It’s no secret that merchants and their customers want a simple online checkout process with added security, and many customers already have a banking relationship with a card issuer. According to a Digital Commerce 360 survey, 82% of merchants want to have a digital wallet option offered by financial institutions.

That is why we are so pleased to announce that beloved burger chain Whataburger, and Hornblower Group – a global leader in experiences and transportation, have all gone live with the PazeSM checkout solution. They are all in the process of helping reimagine and innovate the digital payments experience.

Paze provides an easy, convenient checkout process
For online businesses, the checkout experience could mean the difference between a loyal return customer and an abandoned cart. That’s why it’s so important that merchants incorporate an online checkout solution that supports a smooth, efficient experience. With the Paze checkout solution, customers no longer must deal with the tedious manual entry of card numbers or remember their Card Verification Code (CVC).

Say goodbye to declined transactions due to mistyped numbers or expired cards. The first-of-its-kind digital wallet from Paze also offers an easy guest checkout option, which allows customers to make purchases without going through the lengthy merchant registration process. Instead, they can use their eligible bank email address and authenticate their purchase with a bank-enrolled phone number – removing yet another potential barrier to payment.

Immediate availability of 150 million eligible cards
When the Paze checkout solution reaches general availability, over 150 million credit and debit cards will be available for consumers to easily activate. As the number of participating financial institutions continues to grow, so will the customer base who can use the Paze checkout solution from Day One.

Personalized checkout experience for every customer
Whether it is a ferry ride to see the most famous tourist attraction or a delicious burger and fries, each purchasing experience can be personalized through incorporating the Paze experience into the digital checkout. The Paze approach supports static and dynamic buttons, as well as automatic initiation, which can be leveraged for different flows on the same site. This level of customization provides flexibility in choice with how merchants and sellers can interact at payment with an easy integration into the existing checkout process.

Added security through network tokenization
Online security is top of mind for shoppers and merchants – and it’s a main priority for us, too. Paze is a new digital wallet that leverages network tokenization to provide added security at checkout for merchants, financial institutions, and customers alike. This added layer of safety means that card Primary Account Numbers (PANs) – the 16-digit number on a card – is replaced with a random representational “token” accompanied by a single-use cryptogram required at the time of transaction, making the entire payload unique. Full card details are only retained by the consumer, issuer, and card network – and not by merchants and/or third-party vendors.

“We are so excited for this collaboration with all these top-in-their-field companies to make a better checkout experience for their millions of customers,” said Catherine Murchie, Head of Operations at Paze. “They show real innovation and initiative in providing the future of the online checkout.”
